How Does The Tire Strip Cutting Machine Work?
The rubber strip cutter is mainly composed of a motor, a reducer, gear&protection covers, a main axis, an a upper and down knife, and base. Its working principle is as follows:
- After removing both sidewalls with the tire sidewall cutter, the remaining tire body is placed onto the feeding platform of the rubber strip cutter.
- The motor drives the reducer, which drives the main axis and the upper and lower knives to rotate.
- Rubber tires are cut into long uniform strips by the shearing force of two circular knives.
- The cut rubber strips are then conveyed to the tire block cutter for block cutting for further size reduction.
This pre-cutting step not only saves shredding time but also protects the cutting blades of downstream machines, ensuring long-term efficiency of the whole tire recycling equipment line.

Advantages in Tire Recycling Line
Using a tire strip cutter in your recycling line offers multiple economic and operational benefits:
- Reduces manual labor and operation time.
- Produces evenly sized strips for smooth feeding into the shredder.
- Prevents clogging and uneven cutting in the next crushing stage.
- Extends the service life of shredder blades by up to 30%.
- Enhances overall output capacity and stability of the recycling plant.
When combined with Shuliy’s tire sidewall cutter, tire block cutter, and tire shredder, it forms a high-efficiency tire recycling solution that can turn waste tires into valuable rubber materials.
Malaysia Customer Using Tire Strip Cutter
One of our clients in Malaysia runs a small tire recycling workshop that originally had only a shredder. Before purchasing our tire cutting machine, they used manual tools and simple devices to split waste tires. The inconsistent sizes of the feedstock caused heavy wear on the shredder blades and frequent downtime.
After installing Shuliy’s rubber strip cutter, their overall processing capacity increased by nearly 60%. The replacement frequency of the shredder blades was cut in half, saving a significant amount on maintenance.
The customer shared:
“This tire cutting machine lets us focus on growing our business instead of fixing the shredder all the time. It improved both the quality and efficiency of our recycling line — far beyond what we expected.”
